An exposition “Afghan Break” was opened in the museum and devoted to the 31st anniversary of the withdrawal of the limited contingent of Soviet troops on February 13, 2020.

The exposition consists of five sections, covering the chronicle and features of the participation of the LCST in the armed conflict. Events are presented on the basis of official documents of that era and personal memoirs of internationalist warriors. Each section includes unique exhibits from the museum’s funds: letters from Afghanistan, documents of our compatriots, parts of military equipment characteristic of the Soviet Army in the 1970s and 80s, leaflets and certificates of mujahideen, dari and pashto dictionaries, etc. One of the sections show us a resting place for warriors - a knocked together wooden table on which leisure objects of the 1980s stand: chess, newspapers, etc.

Part of the exhibition is devoted to Temirtau city’s residents who died in the performance of international duty and perpetuate their memory in the Temirtau city. The exposition was created with the support of the Temirtau Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan.
