A research event «Numismatic Legends» was held in the museum of Temirtau city, timed to coincide with the National Currency Day and the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Kazakhstan Republic of Kazakhstan on November 12, 2021.

The first part of the event took place in the Numismatics hall, where the participants could get acquainted with the rich numismatic collection of the museum. On the basis of genuine coins and bonns, they received the first theoretical knowledge about the historical significance of money and on the example of the Kazakhstan tenge’s collection.

The second part of the event consisted of practical, individual research work. The guys mastered the skills of working with museum samples of coins, taking into account all the rules and regulations.

The study began with the ability to identify the obverse, reverse and edge of a coin. The most serious work was carried out on the study and reading of the numismatic legend of the coins of the 20th century mints of different countries and modern Kazakhstan money. Samples of circulation money from the «Treasures of the Steppe» series, issue of 2020, with the reading of the legend and the correspondence of the image on the reverse of the coins.

In conclusion, the guys consolidated the acquired skills and knowledge on collection coins of “proof” quality, presented in the section of the numismatic exposition «Tenge - a symbol of Independence».
