4 February, 2018 an installation "The Afghan Break" was opened in the museum of Temirtau city and devoted to the 30th anniversary of the withdraw troops from Afghanistan. The installation includes two main zones. The first is a fragment of an apartment of a Soviet family, created from archival photographs. There remained what could not be seen and what part of the generation of the 1980s could not participate in: listen to the recordings on reel-to-reel tape recorders, play a song in the yard with a guitar, see news about the Olympic Games and the All-Union Youth Festival. Peaceful life was split into "before" and "after", when an incomprehensible  war broke into it. Thousands of young people became targets in the political game of different worlds. Training field targets, which symbolize the fate of the soldiers - internationalists were established in the second zone of the installation.  The equipment of the Soviet troops, training weapons, letters of soldiers-internationalists, documents and leaflets of opposition fighters supported the tragic essence of the installation. The first visitors of the installation were the warriors - internationalists and the youth of the city.
