A photo exhibition “Kazakh warriors in the Stalingrad Battle”was opened with the support of the Representation of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Kazakhstan Republic, devoted to the 80th anniversary of the Stalingrad liberation on February 2, 2023,
The purpose of the exhibition is to visually show the viewer unique archival photographs and documents telling about the soldiers of Kazakhstan in the battle for Stalingrad.
They are designed in tablet format and are available for viewing by the general public.
The exhibition is based on unique archival materials collected by Russian specialists from the Stalingrad Battle Museum-Reserve (Volgograd) as part of the international project Dialogue Through Culture. For the first time it was exhibited in the Library of the First President of the Kazakhstan Republic (Astana)
The materials of the exhibition introduce the history of one of the bloody battles of the Great Patriotic War, which took place from July 17, 1942 to February 2, 1943. The victory in the great battle made it possible to achieve a radical change in the course of the war. About 500 thousand people died near Stalingrad, including Kazakhstans.
