The opening of  historical space "Events in the malls" took place on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the Koyandinskaya fair, on March 31, 2023.

 Thanks to him, the museum visitor is immersed in an era when distance and time flowed differently. In each settlement, life went on as usual, news reached for weeks, or even months. The visit took several days.  the Koyandinskaya fair-  a concentration of politics, culture, and economics appeared in 1848.

 Its creator, merchant V. Botov, chose a picturesque valley surrounded by mountains. The people called it "Koyandy", which means the area surrounded by hares. one of the major fairs of Central Kazakhstan appeared here, 50 km from the city of Karkaralinsk, on the banks of the Talda River .

 A lot of people from Kazakhstan, Siberia, the Urals, Central Asia and Western China came here to trade. Artists and singers flocked to the Koyandy valley to show off their talent. The fair was the focus of the entire life of Sary-Arka, connecting the North with the South, the West with the East.

 The historical space "Events in the malls" is an installation consisting of 4 exposition zones, united by the "shanyrak" dome.

 In preparation, documents and photographs of the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography named after A.I. Peter the Great (Kunstkamera) of the Russian Academy of Sciences revealing the economic, political, social and cultural life of the Koyandinskaya Fair. Museum artifacts help to recreate the atmosphere of those years: a Tula samovar with the brand “Shemarin Brothers” of the late 19th century, a spinning wheel of the early 20th century, a Singer sewing machine of the early 20th century, sheep shearing shears from the Carl Picard company of the early 20th century, etc.

 As an element, an imitation of a trading cart is inserted into the historical space, the owner of which offers not goods, but knowledge.
