The opening of the exhibition "Sketch of costumes of the characters Sly and Mustachioed for the play "Suitcase of Nonsense" was held as part of the "Exhibit of the Month" project on September 17, 2024. History of the Temirtau city’s Theater for Children and Youth" took place online.
The Executive Committee of the Karaganda Regional Council of People's Deputies decided to open a Theater for Children and Youth in the Temirtau city on June 28, 1989, . The Temirtau city’sTheater for Young Spectators was opened with the aim of preserving the theatrical culture and it was completely focused on the young spectator of the Karaganda region. The Temirtau Museum funds contain a unique exhibit - sketches of the costumes of the characters Sly and Mustachioed for the first performance of the Youth Theater "Suitcase of Nonsense". During the performance, the characters' costumes glowed in the dark, so to display this, the author of the sketches, Lyudmila Petrovna Skokova, chose black paper. Lyudmila Skokova is the chief artist of the theater, worked at the Theater for Children and Youth from its opening until 2019. She is the owner of the Honorary Badge "Madeniet Kairatkeri", the prize of the Akim of the Karaganda region "Best Theater Artist". Sketches for the performance, presented in our exposition, were transferred to the museum funds by the chief director of the Theater for Children and Youth- Yu. Sinin.
