A meeting of the historical club "The history of the country reflected in coins and banknotes" was held in the Temirtau Museum and timed to the National Currency Day on November 15, 2022.

The national currency- tenge was introduced in Kazakhstan on November 15, 1993. It became a symbol of the country's Independence. And from the first issued banknote and minted coin, the modern history of Kazakhstani money begins.

Money is not only a means of payment, but also a treasure trove of historical information that tells about the political life of the country, culture, life and traditions of the people.

The presence of the numismatic collection of the Temitrau Museum made it possible to conduct a practical study of Kazakhstan coins and bonds with the participants of the historical club. Tasks were proposed to determine the obverse and reverse of coins, and classify the edge. The portrait series of the first samples of paper banknotes of 1993 is analyzed. The participants read the legend of the “roof” quality coins.

The work was carried out individually with each participant, taking into account all the norms and rules of numismatic research (the presence of gloves, a magnifying glass and handouts).
