The public was presented with an officer's field bag, which belonged to a resident of the Temirtau city, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Yagovkin Ivan Petrovich.
Ivan Petrovich put on a military uniform for the first time during the civil war of 1918-1922 at the age of 23. Then there was the Japanese-Mongolian military conflict on the Khalkin-Gol River in 1939.
In 1941, taking into account past merits, officer Yagovkin was sent to short-term courses at the military-political school named after V.I. Lenin in Moscow as a political instructor. He went through the whole war. Participated in the defense of Moscow and the liberation of the Baltic states.
He was awarded the medal "For the Defense of Moscow", the medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945".
In 1946 he moved to Temirtau city. In February 1974, Yagovkin donated an officer's tablet to the museum fund, thereby laying the foundation for a collection dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
