The Temirtau city Museum  opened the exhibition "Flexible Records" online as part of the "Exhibit of the Month" project on November 21, 2024.

The Temirtau Museum's collection contains an exhibit that is a rare example of a forgotten audio format. This is a flexible record for a player, the history of which in the USSR and in the West was significantly different. During the opening of the exposition, the history of the emergence of homemade audio recordings and flexi discs was presented.

The music record presented in the exposition of the "Exhibit of the Month" project is paper on one side and covered with film on the other. There is a round hole in the center. The record has a black-and-white photograph with portraits of the Soviet and Ukrainian pop singer Sofia Rotaru and other pop stars. Sound tracks are visible around the circle of the film surface.

In the USSR, flexible discs remained in mass circulation until the 1990s. Music records, on which more than one generation of music lovers grew up, today remain only a nostalgic exhibit.
